Why Does Automobile Industry Need Ballistic Rated Glass?

A military vehicle used for transporting soldiers uses everything bulletproof. The metal used for designing the vehicle can withstand bullets and blasts. Also, the glass used in the vehicle is of the highest ballistic-rated glass. This piece passes many quality checks to become suitable for use on military vehicles.

Here we’ll discuss the procedure of making a bulletproof glass

Manufacturing

The process starts with developing glass and then providing its strength. It is made tough so it can withstand pressure. It won’t break even on coming into contact with a high-speed bullet. It won’t show any sign of exhaustion even when it is attacked from a close range. The manufacturing process has several phases to make sure that the product passes all quality tests.

Quality

Anti-ballistic glass is a product of the highest quality. In quality testing, the product is made to withstand bullets from all ranges including close range. It is allowed to enter the second phase only when it passes the first phase. The manufacturers don’t make any compromise on the quality of products and for this reason, they keep testing their products.

Cost

The cost of military-grade glass is always high in comparison to the ordinary product. But military-grade glass is no ordinary product. It is developed for a specific use which is to improve the durability and reliability of military vehicles. Manufacturers keep the cost of military-grade glass affordable to help the defense forces of the world. Also, the military organizations of the world choose their products selectively.

How to choose military-grade glass?

A piece of bullet-resistant glass is developed after years of research and development. Also, the manufacturers keep developing their products to meet the quality standards. You should know that military organizations of the world keep improving their quality standards. The bullets that were used ten years back are no longer in use.

A product is tested with new bullets so it meets all quality standards. Also, manufacturers keep their products up-to-date to bag orders from world military organizations. They also get orders for bulletproof glass from the automobile industry. World political leaders and business tycoons travel in bulletproof vehicles.

The automobile industry uses ballistic-rated glass to produce bulletproof vehicles for world political leaders and business tycoons. This glass is produced and used on demand and the demand for this product is growing day by day. It is so because everyone needs a bulletproof vehicle to travel safely.

The new ScreeneX Products you can see at InnoTrans 2018

OSG (Oran Palmach Tzuba A.C.C. Ltd.) is exhibiting new developments of its innovative ScreeneX technology at Innotrans 2018. ScreeneX is a product-line of screens fully-embedded inside glass elements for on-board passenger Information screens systems (PIS). ScreeneX is implemented in side-windows and glass partitions on-board various types of rail and public transportation vehicles. ScreeneX products are […]

ScreeneX®: Transforming Windows and Glass Areas into Vivid Digital Information Displays for Passengers

A Window of Real-time Communication

ScreeneX® is a new generation of passenger information systems (PIS) for on-board and off-board applications, Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI), entertainment and commercial advertisements.

Featuring an embedded TFT – LCD panel inside the glass unit, ScreeneX® allows operators to control and tailor information displayed to passengers – enhancing the passenger experience and creating a new platform for advertising revenue.

For the first time, with ScreeneX® glass becomes an integral part of our digital information world – livable, informative and entertaining.

A ScreeneX basic system will typically include two modules: a window-Screen and an electronic control unit (ECU) connected together via a communication cable. The window-screen is an insulated glass unit (IGU) with a total width of 16-20mm in which the screen is perfectly embedded internally such that the surface of the glass unit (from both sides) is clear and smooth as regular glass.

We are proud to invite you to visit us in Hall 1, stand 425, at Innotrans 2016 on the 20-23/09/2016 in Berlin.

At the exhibition OSG will exhibit our ScreeneX Passenger Information System – Window/Glass Partition with embedded LCD panel, for online real time information, images and variable text.

We will also show various additional glazing solutions and advanced technologies.

Why embedded screen into windows is the next generation passenger information system?

Featuring an embedded TFT – LCD panel inside the glass unit, ScreeneX® allows operators to control and tailor information displayed to passengers – enhancing the passenger experience (INFOtainment) and creating a new platform for advertising revenue.

Take one window and one TFT-LCD panel and make it one!

From now, you can organise the advertisements and passenger information on the Full-HD-Screen entirely according to your wishes.

Discover in a few points the benefits of our new ScreeneXinnovation:
Next Generation Design

ScreeneX® offers a clean, sophisticated and futuristic addition to the passenger surroundings, introducing the next generation of digital signage for the mass transportation market.
Saves internal space

As cabin space is valuable, ScreeneX® allows the substitution of traditional mounted digital signage systems by better using existing glass areas and elements. ScreeneX® was designed to utilize only a portion of an existing window or glass area, while maintaining the functionality of that window or element.
Rich content supply

You can ensure your passengers have up-to-date travel information, are notified of delays or changing conditions, and have relevant connection times. The system can also deliver Immediate and highly effective safety alerts as well as a range of entertainment, promotions and advertising.
Control System

The content displayed on the screen is controlled through a user friendly central content management system, which can be tailored to a specific project. ScreeneX® uses standard communication protocols and can be controlled by all standard content management systems.
Durability

ScreeneX® was developed with transportation vehicles in mind and built to meet or exceed the most demanding standards in the industry. The entire system is highly resilient to vibration and varying temperatures, as well as to the attention of vandals. The system’s robustness and resilience significantly increases the length of its life cycle.
Plug and Play

Installation and maintenance of the system is as simple as installing regular windows or glass elements.

OSG’s Screenex to introduce On-Board Real Time Passenger Information

Oran Safety Glass has won its first contract to supply its ScreeneX innovative display technology with glass-embedded high-resolution LCD screens. The order has been placed by CN-Consult, which will incorporate ScreeneX into 170 “InnoScreen” overhead displays, and are to be installed this year at stations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

ScreeneX uses insulated, laminated or tempered glass suitable for use in signs, partitions, vehicle doors and windscreens. Real-time information as well as advertising content can be programmed via a server.

What are the benefits?

Besides an innovative display technology in a super flat design, the center of attention lies on the massively reduced life-cycle costs:

  • very low energy consumption
  • no need for regular maintenance
  • use of commercially available components

CN-Consult will presenting one of his newest products, “InnoScreen®, for the first time at InnoTrans 2016.
