Independent Ballistic & Impact Testing Expertise Supporting the Defense Industry
At Eurosatory 2026, the OSG Ballistic & Impact Laboratory (BIL) presents its capabilities for the first time as an independent testing partner for the defense, transportation, and industrial sectors.
While BIL has long supported OSG’s internal programs, the laboratory now offers its services to external clients requiring objective, independently validated testing results.
Rooted in Ballistic Testing
Located near Jerusalem, BIL has been active for many years, accumulating more than 20,000 documented tests across transparent armor, metals, composites, and complete protection systems.
Its capabilities cover ballistic testing across ammunition types and threat levels, fragment simulation, and environmental conditioning across extreme temperature and humidity ranges, making it a reliable resource for defense organizations, research institutions, and industrial partners.
ISO 17025 Accreditation
BIL recently received ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation, enabling it to provide independently validated testing results to customers who require internationally recognized certification.
The lab supports a wide variety of global testing standards, including:
- STANAG 4569 / AEP-55 for armored vehicle protection
- EN 1063 for bullet-resistant glass
- UL 752 and NIJ 0108.01 ballistic standards
- VPAM protection standards
- Impact and environmental testing standards for transportation systems
By operating under these frameworks, BIL helps manufacturers validate products against the protection levels and performance criteria required by military organizations and regulatory bodies worldwide.
Testing Beyond Ballistics
Beyond firearm testing, BIL conducts impact and environmental simulations covering fragments, rocks, debris, and other operational hazards encountered in real-world conditions.
