Marine Glass

We design and manufacture weather-resistant, high-endurance transparent protection solutions for all types of watercraft, providing curved and flat glass for naval ships, commercial liners, as well as for civilian boats and yachts. Our marine glass features:

Impact-resistance
Withstands the toughest sea conditions – salt, thermal shocks, atmospheric changes and corrosion

Our frames are made with marine grade aluminum, anodized according to specific requirements. Frames are sealed with adhesives and sealants for marine applications and all frames receive anti-corrosion treatment.

Our vehicle protection kits can be easily shipped in standard containers. The armor kits meet the most rigorous standards, including MIL-STD and ATPD 2352. OSG’s kitted protection solutions are designed for swift and simple installation.

OSG’s armor kits deliver performance above and beyond the call of duty. They are ideal for a wide variety of missions and operational needs, and enable warfighters to successfully meet the most demanding battlefield challenges.

Transparent Armor Add-ons

OSG Oran Safety Glass introduces new approach to Transparent Armor (TA) that revolutionizes TA on military vehicles: the “A-PLUS-B Armor” design.

OSG new A-PLUS-B transparent armor system allows selection of protection based on mission and protection needs. T.A fixed on the vehicle (“A-kit”) can be lower-level and lighter in weight.

When required, a second layer of armor (“B-kit”) can be added to the vehicle in 5 minutes with hand tools. This design assures the removal of significant weight from the vehicle for most of its life; and thus enhanced fleet management.

A third level of protection (“C-kit”) can even be added for extreme protection.

Rock-Strike Glass Technology (RSG)

Fully tested and proven, RSG is a proprietary ballistic-resistant glass that provides protection against rock attacks and other projectiles. RSG represents an enhanced alternative to traditional metal grids that are often installed on Transparent Armor and non-armored windows to protect against damage from rock strikes.

Ballistic Window Relamination and Refurbishment

Military vehicles equipped with armored glass windows travel on various types of terrain that can transfer shockwaves through the glass. The vehicles are also exposed to challenging environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity. As a result, damage ballistic windows may occur that compromises visibility and, in some cases, safety.

Over time, these extreme environmental conditions can cause delamination of the glass layers. In most cases, ballistic performance remains intact, but if the delamination spreads over larger surfaces to the point where it diminishes visibility, replacement may be required.

Replacing armored glass windows can be expensive. As a result, OSG offers a quick, sustainable and cost-effective alternative to replacing the entire transparent armored glass window: relamination and/or refurbishment.

Relamination – removes the glass from the frame, replaces the original polycarbonate layer (spall-liner), re-bonds the layers of transparency in an autoclave, repairs the frame as needed and replaces the relaminated glass in the frame. This procedure eliminates the need to replace the glass or the frame with new materials.
Refurbishment – removes and replaces the entire glass window with new armored glass, repairs the frame as needed and installs the new glass in the repaired frame. This procedure eliminates the need to replace the frame.

Note: Not all transparent armor windows are candidates for relamination or refurbishment. Depending on their condition, windows should be individually inspected to determine the viability of these alternatives to total replacement.

OSG is an expert at these procedures. No special equipment or production lines are necessary. OSG handles these repairs on a regular basis and is fully-equipped to relaminate or refurbish as required.

Ballistics Lab

Our state-of-the art research and development facilities include a ballistic lab for small arms kinetic testing. The lab features an extensive range of firing capabilities and advanced measuring equipment.

OSG has a wealth of knowledge built on a 25+ year history of ballistic testing with standard ammunition, fragments and special impactors. This expertise contributes to the quality of our transparent armor solutions. Our ballistics lab conducts tests for most international ballistic testing standards.

Standards and Certification

When it comes to saving lives and protecting property, our transparent armor complies with the highest industry standards. Our products meet ATPD-2352 (current rev.) as well as STANAG 4569 standards (Levels 1 to 4), plus equivalent US National Instituteof Justice (NIJ), European, German, Spanish, DoD UFC performance criteria and other standards for all threat levels. We conduct blast, fragmentation, and environmental tests in-house, in accordance with STANAG, the US Army, and USMC specifications.
